Maison Martin Margiela‘s sister line, MM6 Maison Margiela, is looking forward to warm weather with the release of its Spring/Summer 2020 lookbook. Bags, shoes and ready-to-wear arrive in pale turquoise, light pink, baby blue and lime green, indicative of the upcoming season’s penchant for pastels.
A series of separates, ankle boots and totes are rendered in towel-like terrycloth printed with a graphic floral motif. A tailored house coat arrives in quilted floral print while blouses feature deconstructed ruffled paneling at the bust. Simpler pieces include short-sleeve button downs, straight-leg denim and wide-leg trousers. Accessories spotlight headbands as a burgeoning trend — Margiela updates the preppy essential in polka dot and logo iterations, featuring a chunky padded silhouette reminiscent of Prada‘s original SS19 model that has continued to spark numerous copies.
