CHARLES & KEITH and YVMIN Make a Case for Charms

The duo’s new collaboration features charms, bags and shoes, inspired by fruits and wearable art.

Singapore-based accessories and footwear label CHARLES & KEITH just announced its latest collaboration, teaming up with Beijing-based jewelry house, YVMIN. Influenced by the concept of wearable art, the collaboration also takes inspiration from “the visual appeal of ripe produce.”

Reimagining fruits as “vessels of emotion, nostalgia and youth,” the poetic collaboration features sculptural accessories and playful design detailing across classic CHARLES & KEITH silhouettes. Comprising a pouch bag, a pair of sandals and a collection of pendant charms, the collaboration favors customization and deconstruction.

“I was drawn to the image of a fruit, suspended delicately on a branch—wrapped, waiting, and on the cusp of release,” says YVMIN’s designer Zhang Xiaoyu in a press release. “It’s that fragile moment before ripeness surrenders to gravity. When it lets go, it is not merely falling, but reaching out, hoping to be caught, like finding a connection with someone in an unexpected, meaningful way,” Xiaoyu adds.

First up is the Ally Ruched Slouchy Knotted Bag, arriving in “Mint Sorbet,” followed by the brand’s vine-strap sandals in hues of “Lime” and silver. Rounding out the collection is a series of glossy fruit charms, designed to be worn as hair accessories, earrings, necklace pendants or attached to the collaboration’s shoes and bag. Featuring green and red apples, a strawberry, jeweled grapes and a cherry, the super-sweet charms aim to represent the versatility of women.

To celebrate the release, CHARLES & KEITH and YVMIN will host a pop-up in Shanghai from May 1-11, featuring interactive experiences, fruit-inspired nail art stickers and giveaways.

Take a look at the new collection above, available from the CHARLES & KEITH website on May 6.

In other collaboration news, Cecilie Bahnsen is back with ASICS.
